Taranto Football Club is officially over: the court has declared it bankrupt.

Taranto Football Club 1927 has officially gone bankrupt. This was established by the Taranto court, which, in its ruling of July 9th, granted the request presented by public prosecutor Raffaele Graziano, initiated "judicial liquidation," and appointed Taranto accountant Cosimo Valentini as bankruptcy trustee.

The ruling issued by the panel of magistrates Italo Federici, Raffaele Viglione, and Giuseppe De Francesca reveals the dramatic financial situation facing the club, led by Ionian entrepreneur Massimo Giove. The documents state that "an examination of the documentation in the files, and in particular the 2022-2024 financial statements, reveals" primarily "constantly and significantly increasing debts." Specifically, liabilities in 2022 amount to €2,491,000, rising to €3,185,000 in 2023 and finally €4,136,000. Revenues have also grown over the years: €2,382,000 in 2022, €2,385,000 in 2023, and €3,758,000 in 2024.

But there's more. All the details in tomorrow's print edition of the Gazzetta, July 16th.
