Giotto Tennis - Under18 Men
Arezzo, 21 June 2025 – Tennis Giotto wins the Tuscan team championship in the Under 18 men's category . The success came at the end of a particularly hard-fought final against Junior Club Next Gen of Ronchi (Ms) which ended with a score of 2-1 in the tie break of the third set, with the Arezzo club managing to win the seventh consecutive regional championship and to continue a streak of successes that began way back in 2019 in the Under 12 category. This team, in the meantime, has also celebrated the victory of two Italian titles in the Under 12 category in 2020 and in the Under 16 category in 2024, demonstrating continuity of performance and consistency in growth necessary to consolidate itself among the most promising and long-lived groups on the Italian scene.
The Under 18 men's team of Tennis Giotto relied on Giorgio Carcani, Gianmarco Cartocci, Raffaele Ciurnelli and Lorenzo De Vizia who, by combining their respective rackets, were the protagonists of an impeccable journey in the regional championship marked by victories of 2-0 over At Piombinese, 2-1 over Ct Lucca and 2-0 in the semifinal with Ct Grosseto. The final played on the courts of via Divisione Garibaldi saw the home team temporarily take the lead with De Vizia's affirmation for 6-2 and 6-3, then the Junior Club Next Gen found the equalizer in a long and balanced match where Carcani was overcome only in the third set with the scores of 2-6, 6-4 and 2-6. With the singles ending 1-1, the doubles were decisive: Tennis Giotto fielded De Vizia and Cartocci who won the first set 6-1, lost the second 3-6 and scored the winning point with the 10-6 tie break of the third. "This victory closes a circle - comments Alessandro Caneschi, head of the competitive sector of Tennis Giotto, - in which we won the regional title in all categories, certifying the absolute value of our guys and the quality of the work carried out in these years with passion, dedication and foresight".
