Terranuova Traiana beats Asta in a friendly match

Arezzo, August 21, 2025 – Terranuova Traiana closed out their pre-season friendlies with a bang. Yesterday afternoon, the red and whites defeated Asta 2-0 at the "Arnaldo Satini" sports field in Taverne d'Arbia, in their final match before the official start of the 2025-2026 Serie D season. Goals from captain Marini in the 27th minute of the first half and Ngom in the eighth minute of the second decided the match. Coach Becattini continued his tried and tested 4-2-3-1 formation, but deployed a significantly updated lineup compared to recent years: Pagnini in goal; the defense consisted of Benucci, Ficini, new signing Simonti, and Tassi; and up front were Sesti and Cioce, the latter returning from the serious injury suffered on September 29 against Fezzanese. Marini, Sborgi, and Saltalamacchia will be in the attacking midfield, supporting Bruni, who is deployed as a central attacking midfielder. Degl'Innocenti, Bargellini, and Zhupa are rested as a precaution. This is a positive sign for Becattini, who will now have further evaluations ahead of his official debut next Sunday: at 5:00 p.m., at the Matteini Stadium, Terranuova will face Scandicci in the Coppa Italia Serie D preliminary round.
