Toro, there is an agreement with Baroni: the signature tonight
Only the signature is missing, but now Marco Baroni can consider himself as the new coach of Toro. The agreement was reached in these days and will be made official tonight, when the coach and the president Cairo will meet in Milan for dinner to seal the beginning of the new adventure. Barring sensational twists, therefore, Baroni will sign a two-year contract worth 1.5 million net per season, bonuses included, and will take the place of Paolo Vanoli who had already been badly dumped by the granata club after the last day of the championship.
Baroni is ready to start again after the bittersweet experience at Lazio. For three quarters of the season he was in the running for the Champions League, showing an excellent game and obtaining great results also in the Europa League. Then in the end he collapsed: first the elimination on penalties against the Norwegians of Bodo, then the final slowdown with Lazio out of the European cups after 8 years. Now he gets back into the game at Toro: in Lecce and Verona he achieved real feats with young and dismantled teams, now he will look for a new masterpiece.
