Valtiberina Tennis celebrates promotion to D1

Arezzo, June 16, 2025 – Valtiberina Tennis celebrates promotion to D1 . The milestone was reached by the first women's team of the Sansepolcro club which, engaged in the Tuscan D2 championship, was the protagonist of an impeccable path where it won, between the initial round and the regional scoreboard, each of the five matches played and thus deserved the promotion to the higher category. The team relied on the rackets of Alessia Bellotti, Elora Dabija, Anna Sophie Grashofer, Michela Metozzi and Anna Pazzi who alternated on the court between singles and doubles, with the constant support of captain Luca Cesari, president Carmelo Gambacorta and sports director Leonardo Marinelli.

The extraordinary path of the Valtiberina Tennis girls during the season was also evident in the decisive match of the regional draw at the home of Ct Lucca, won 2-0. The first point was scored by Bellotti with a double 6-4, then the task of sealing the victory was entrusted to Dabija who closed the matter in just fifty minutes of play for 6-0 and 6-0, thus arriving to formalize the passage to the category. Previously, Valtiberina Tennis had overcome in sequence Il Poggetto “A” of Florence, Tc Bisenzio, San Marco Vecchio of Florence and Us Campaldino of Poppi always with the score of 2-1, achieving first place in the regular season and confirming the high level of a group of tennis players who in the past had represented the Tiberina club well also in three positive seasons in series C all ended with access to the Play Offs for B2.
