Alleged senior citizen scammer arrested in Monclova after complaint filed

Jorge 'N' deceived senior citizens by offering help with pension procedures to empty their accounts.
MONCLOVA, COAH.- A 36-year-old man, identified as Jorge "N," was arrested by Municipal Police officers after being accused of defrauding dozens of senior citizens, whom he promised to help with pension and pension fund applications.
The alleged scammer presented himself as a consultant and, taking advantage of the elderly people's good faith, requested confidential information such as account numbers, PINs, and interbank codes . With this information, he emptied their savings without the victims realizing the fraud.

The scam was discovered after one of the victims reported the incident to the authorities. After receiving the report, municipal police launched an operation that led to the location and arrest of Jorge "N" on Avenida Revolución, near the 18 de Marzo neighborhood, near the area known as "las maquiladoras."
During the search, the officers found around 20 bank transfers among his belongings, with amounts ranging from 5,000 to 14,000 pesos, evidence confirming the suspect's modus operandi in stealing money from elderly people.
The detainee was transferred to the municipal cells and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office , which will determine his legal status in the coming hours.
Finally, authorities called on citizens to report any victims of this man so that the crimes do not go unpunished.
