Construction awarded on Revolución Boulevard to speed up traffic on the Diana Laura Bridge

Construcciones y Vialidades del Norte, SA de CV, will be responsible for carrying out the road reorganization works on Revolución Boulevard under the Diana Laura Overpass, as it was the most economical and viable proposal of the two companies that entered the public bidding process. These works will complement the planned construction of a road system on the same road, between Vasconcelos and División del Norte avenues.
In the bidding process LPN-DGOP-TOR-003-2025, corresponding to project number ML-005-2025, the winning company and Construlager de La Laguna, SA de CV, both local, registered, although the latter did not appear at the clarification meeting. Construcciones y Vialidades del Norte submitted a proposal for 9 million 498 thousand 447.27 pesos excluding VAT, 100 thousand pesos less than the other company.
The reorganization of Revolución Boulevard is planned between 36th and 42nd Streets in the Felipe Ángeles neighborhood, with the elimination of traffic lights in the lower part of the Diana Laura Bridge, to replace them with continuous flow systems, with the idea of speeding up traffic towards the Saltillo 400 highway.
A few days ago, Mayor Román Alberto Cepeda González announced that these modifications will complement a larger project to be developed on Revolución Boulevard itself, with the construction of a vehicular underpass or grade separation that will cover the intersections between Vasconcelos and División del Norte avenues.
This road system will replace the so-called smart intersection, which is quite congested and has traffic jams during rush hour, resulting in waits of up to 17 minutes.
According to the measurements made by the Directorate of Public Works, There are around 70 thousand vehicles that pass through this intersection daily.
Nearly 300 million pesos of municipal funds will be invested in this road system alone, although, as has been the case with previous projects, such as the Giro Independencia highway, state government support will be requested to supplement this investment.
The project will be developed at the originally planned intersection of Diagonal Reforma Boulevard and Juárez Boulevard, where traffic congestion is also common.
As reported by the mayor, the road system in Vasconcelos and División del Norte will be complemented by other projects, such as the creation of dual carriageways to facilitate transportation to the southern part of the city.
