Could it have been Bart? A statue of Melania Trump disappears in her native Slovenia.

Could it have been Bart? A statue of Melania Trump disappears in her native Slovenia.

Springfield Square - A statue of Melania Trump (wife of the former US president) mysteriously disappeared from her native Slovenia, and we have a good idea of who could have done it.

A few years ago, American artist Brad Downey had built an effigy of Melania, which was placed on the outskirts of Sevnica, the hometown of the First Lady of the United States (when Trump was anything but a YouTuber).

It's worth mentioning that Melanija Knavs was born in 1970 in Slovenia, a country known worldwide for being the birthplace of both her and Luka Dončić, a basketball player who promised to be the new NBA star... before the league forced the Dallas Mavericks to give him away to the Lakers.

Back to the point: the statue, made of bronze, solidly cast in concrete, and placed on a tree trunk, was more than a tribute to Mrs. Trump; it was a "work of counterpropaganda," as Downey explained at the time.

The statue of Melania Trump has disappeared

And so it was that, just a few days ago, it was reported that the monument had been sawed off at the ankles and disappeared in the darkness of the night, so the Slovenian police have opened an investigation to find those responsible for the… cultural crime.

“Officers immediately went to the scene and began an investigation,” said police spokeswoman Alenka Drenik Rangu, putting on her best surprised face, as if she hadn’t expected someone to knock down a statue of Melania again .

Because yes, it's worth mentioning that a similar statue, but carved in wood and painted with a blue dress (very copy-paste of Jackie Kennedy), had been placed there in 2017. That one was also vandalized, so it was removed by the authorities at the time.

But this time they didn't stop at just graffiti: they've applied the same treatment as Jeremiah Springfield's. All that's missing is for someone to bring it back with a donkey's head.

And in case you missed it: Ari Gameplays released a new song… and it's worse than the first.
