The lack of road signs at a turnoff on the Gloria-Colombia Highway poses a latent risk of a traffic accident or even a tragedy in the municipality of Anáhuac. At the Camarón Interchange, at kilometer 53, there are two turnoffs for drivers traveling on Highway 1 North. One of these turnsoffs connects drivers traveling from Colombia to Anáhuac.
However, that loop doesn't have any signs where it joins Highway 1 North warning drivers not to take that road, as it's not an access road.
"On my trip from Anáhuac to the Colombia Bridge," explained one driver, "I saw the finished ramp, and since there were no 'do not enter' signs, I got on at the intersection to head toward Colombia.
"I was so distressed that when I took a left turn, the arrow signs on the side of the curve (of the loop) all turned their backs on me," he explained, "that is, they are directed toward traffic coming from Colombia, and it's a single lane."

The turnoff that drivers must take to get to the Colombia Bridge is located about 300 meters ahead.
The driver noted that the lack of signage and ignorance of the new interchange could lead to a head-on collision.
"It's urgent that the government post 'do not enter' signs on that ramp for traffic coming from Anáhuac and heading toward the Colombia Bridge," the driver added.
"If there hasn't been a tragedy with deaths and injuries, it's only because God is great."
EL NORTE toured the stretch yesterday and found that there are no signs warning drivers about the direction of the loop.
The El Camarón interchange was inaugurated by Governor Samuel García in October 2024 and has two exits, one cloverleaf and the other curved, both with a single lane, in addition to another level exit leading from Highway 1 North to the Nuevo Laredo Highway.
