Hail and winds wreak havoc in Monclova; shopping center roof collapses (video)

A strong storm caused part of the structure on Paseo Monclova to collapse; one person is reported injured.

MONCLOVA, COAH.- An intense storm that occurred Tuesday afternoon caused severe material damage in different parts of Monclova , including the partial collapse of the roof structure in the Paseo Monclova shopping center.

Staff at the affected mall reported one injured person, although they did not provide details of the type or severity of the injuries. They did say that paramedics treated the person and then transported him to a local hospital.

The meteorological phenomenon was accompanied by strong gusts of wind, heavy rain, and hail, which caused damage to urban infrastructure and residential areas.

Among the most significant damages reported were the fall of trees, fences and poles belonging to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE ), as well as flooding in various neighborhoods.

Civil Protection personnel remain deployed, responding to citizen reports and working to ensure the safety of the population.

Municipal authorities urge the community to exercise extreme caution, stay informed through official channels, and avoid high-risk areas while cleanup and damage assessment efforts continue.
