INE 'scores' the victories of judges with low averages in law studies

The INE General Council agreed not to grant a certificate of majority to candidates who failed to achieve an 8-point average in the law program and a 9-point average in their specialty.
At the proposal of Councilor Carla Humphrey , it was unanimously approved not to assign the seats to the judges proposed in the project presented by the Executive Secretariat.

The counselor mentioned the cases of Joel Isaac Rangel, Eduardo Torres Carrillo, and Guadalupe López Arvizu , who did not achieve an average of 8 in the law degree.
Councillor Uuc-kib Espadas summoned Tomás Enrique Sánchez Silva.
In addition, there are 34 cases of elected candidates who also failed to achieve the grade point average of 9 in the specialty , Humphrey reported.
"The requirement of having at least a 9 average in the respective subjects had to be accredited, but in 34 cases this is not accredited. I, of course, do not support the granting of these majority certificates," the councilor said at the General Council meeting.
Councilor Espadas also said the argument presented in the draft agreement, in which many schools consider a grade of 7.92 equivalent to an 8.0, was unacceptable.
He cautioned that it was not about rounding up grades .
"We're not in a ratings negotiation, we're not in a conventional agreement. The numbers are what they are, and if the law sets a limit, that's the limit," he explained.
Due to the cancellation of the candidacies, the INE will replace the candidates who received the highest vote.
A recess was declared to make the adjustments and present them to the full council, so that these profiles could also be endorsed.
Previously, the Council approved in general terms the agreement to assign candidates for circuit magistrates on an equal basis.
