Professionalism

Watch the interview on Fantino's Neura with Milei and her entire team, where they explain who they are, where they come from, what their thoughts are, and what their plan is. The stages of their plans, what they hope will happen, are of a level of professionalism never seen before in Argentine politics. I recommend it to anyone looking for some hope that this time it will work and we will rise as a country. Never, never, never before have I seen people working in the Casa Rosada (I don't call them politicians because they clearly aren't) so prepared, so faithful to the letter of what they said in their campaigns, and even less so, so well-crafted and executed. To that entire team—most of whom were working in New York, where they were doing spectacularly—I sincerely thank you for the commitment and the discomfort you have taken on to serve the nation. Don't give up even half an inch, because the majority will support you with their vote, without a doubt.

To all

Was Frondizi a statesman? The son of immigrants, with an honors degree in law, he died alone in his home on Beruti Street, his wife and only daughter deceased. A political prisoner twelve times, he was already president for a year under Martín García. He had no enemies, only adversaries. On TV, he spoke to us all, emphasizing the 20 million mark. That was what the youth demanded of Milei in the 2023 PASO elections.

“Like many others, I'm moved by the images of the seabed that CONICET shares with us. I was moved by how the public felt when a white anemone was removed on camera for study, using a truly delicate procedure. But I'm amazed at how there is so much social silence regarding the real threats to marine animals, whose populations are being wiped out: trawling, overfishing, bycatch, seismic exploration, deep-sea mining, pollution, etc. Logically, those responsible (companies and policies that allow it) aren't going to broadcast images of this environmental destruction. And since it's not visible, they try to pretend it's not happening. But yes, they've been warning us for a long time. And the complicit, deliberate, and ignorant silence continues. But it's time to raise awareness. Because it's known.”

Fine hunger?

The Buenos Aires city government announced it will impose fines of up to $900,000 on those who rummage through garbage containers, arguing that it's intended to prevent acts of vandalism and filth. But those who rummage through the trash aren't committing a crime: they're trying to survive. They're looking for food, something useful, something to get through another day in the harshness of abandonment. They're not littering the city; they're exposing a social wound we'd rather not look at. Is hunger vandalism? Is poverty a punishable act? More than sanctions, these people need public policies, support, and compassion. Fining those who have nothing doesn't put the city in order: it deepens inequality. Is this really the country we want to build?

Chinese cars

A few days ago, La Nación published an interview with businessman Manuel Antelo, in which he announced a $200 million investment intended, among other things, for the import of Great Wall vehicles from China. As a buyer and user of a Great Wall pickup truck, I would like to mention the following: the truck is very good, but the supply of spare parts is absolutely deficient, and the few that are available are much more expensive than similar ones from other leading brands. This means that the vehicle cannot be used until the replacement part is obtained or one from another brand is adapted. Spare parts are available in neighboring countries, but their entry into Argentina is prohibited (contraband). Importers should be required to strictly comply with the stock of spare parts necessary to cover normal requirements, something that is not the case to date.

Abuse

The day before yesterday, LA NACION published an article reporting that President Milei had hurled 611 profane insults at his opponents in the last 100 days. Is this the "cultural battle" he claims to be waging?

VTV Price

Last Monday, I went to have my vehicle inspection (VTV) carried out at plant No. 31 in Tigre, supervised by the Ministry of Transportation of the province of Buenos Aires. I had to pay the sum of $79,640.87, compared to $34,531.17 a year ago on the same date, an increase of just over 130%. However, the Consumer Price Index between August 1, 2024, and August 1, 2025 (calculating a 1.8% increase for July 2025) shows a 41.20% increase. In other words, in one year, I had to endure a 130% increase in the cost of the VTV when the CPI only varied by 41.20%. Any thoughts, Governor Kicillof?

Better half

Regarding Mr. Diego Serebrennik's column on oranges, it's worth adding Plato's mention in his dialogue "Banquet." It highlights the speech by Aristophanes, a comedian of the time, about the origin of the soul mate we all seek in our lives. It turns out that man felt greater than the gods, and so the gods decided to cut them in half with a sword, generating two beings from each. And they decided to punish the audacity of this challenge by condemning them to find their other half for ever and ever. And thus originated the saying "finding one's soul mate," which continues to this day and allows us to search knowing that soul mate exists. Supposedly.
