Monclova signs agreement with Foreign Affairs; leads passport processing in Coahuila

Mayor Carlos Villarreal formalized an agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen citizen services for passport and document legalization procedures.

MONCLOVA, COAH.- In order to strengthen the services provided by the Municipal Liaison Office with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) , Mayor Carlos Villarreal signed a collaboration agreement with José Alfonso Delgadillo López, state delegate of the SRE in Coahuila.

During the meeting, held in Monclova , the progress made in processing services offered by the local office was reviewed, primarily related to passport issuance, document legalization, and international procedures. The meeting was also attended by Gabriela Flores Turrubiate, director of the Municipal Liaison Office with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), and the City Council Secretary, José Alberto Medina Martínez.

“The objective is clear: to facilitate access to consular services for the citizens of Monclova, quickly and efficiently ,” said Mayor Villarreal, who emphasized that this collaboration is part of the effort to maintain an administration that is close to the people and aligned with the priorities of Governor Manolo Jiménez.

According to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Monclova liaison office is, to date, the one that has handled the most passport applications in the entire state during 2025, surpassing other municipal offices. This result has been possible thanks to coordinated work between different levels of government and state support.

The signed agreement will allow us to continue streamlining processes and improving citizen service . "We will continue to work with the departments, with the support of our governor, to improve the services we offer to citizens, " the mayor reiterated.

The Municipal Liaison Office with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in Monclova has established itself as a key point for managing consular procedures in the central region of Coahuila , strengthening the city's image as a benchmark for administrative efficiency .
