Outrage on social media over arrogance of a judicial official at the Saltillo alcohol checkpoint

Internet users question why Eduardo Fuentevilla Cabello, secretary of the Collegiate Court for Administrative and Civil Matters of the Federal Judiciary, was not arrested after the scandal and threats against police officers in the city.

A scandal of arrogance and insults involving Eduardo Fuentevilla Cabello, a Judicial Branch official , sparked outrage on social media after his conduct was captured on video during an anti-alcohol operation on Colosio Boulevard in Saltillo early Saturday morning.

In the released images, Fuentevilla can be seen berating municipal officers after his son was arrested at the security checkpoint. " Listen to what I'm saying, I'm Eduardo Fuentevilla. I'm not going to hit you. I'm telling you what's going to happen," he can be heard saying in a threatening tone.

Reactions were swift. Users like Ángel Álvarez questioned the outcome of the episode: " Did the officer end up detained? Who did he call to resolve the matter, and what instructions did he give?" Others, like Juana Laureano, criticized his attitude: "What this person is saying speaks so harshly of him that the police officer can't hear what he's saying."

In another video fragment, Fuentevilla attacks a civilian wearing a red jacket, threatening him: “I'm a ver..., damn it, you don't know who you messed with... I'll make you fight,” while approaching him in an intimidating manner.

Clamor on social networks

Outrage also spread to platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, where users criticized the officer's behavior. " The scandal will be if the guy arrives with work on Monday," wrote one user identified as Tigrenator. Pauli and Superpapito, meanwhile, wondered why he wasn't detained and put in a patrol car .

The video, released by VANGUARDIA , reached 51,000 views as of Sunday night, as well as 400 comments and almost a thousand reactions, with a majority of comments condemning the official's arrogant and discriminatory behavior, who even boasted of his origins in Sinaloa while threatening security personnel.

PUBLIC APOLOGY... AND PROFILE DELETED

Hours later, some local media reported that Eduardo Fuentevilla had published an apology message on the social network X from the account @FuentevillaWayo, which was later deleted.

$!Fuentevilla offered a public apology on social media, although he later deleted his account following the scandal.

In his messages, he expressed: “Today, with deep regret, I find myself writing my most sincere and profound apologies for the events that occurred (...). I did go too far by uttering a number of inappropriate insults. The public security personnel deserve my utmost respect and admiration for their work.”

He claimed that his reaction was the result of “ visceral emotion ” when he saw his son vulnerable, although he insisted that the events were “ taken out of context.”

According to the Federal Judiciary Council website, Eduardo Alonso Fuentevilla Cabello holds a law degree from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa. He has taught at the Autonomous University of the Northeast (UANE), worked at the law firm Cabello y Constandse, and interned at Calesa Consultores Jurídicos SC.

In October 2023 , Fuentevilla actively participated in protests by judicial workers in Saltillo, following the disappearance of 13 trusts, some of them related to the pension system.
