Saltillo: PRONNIF rules out sexual harassment of children by Asian neighbors

Saltillo: PRONNIF rules out sexual harassment of children by Asian neighbors

Authorities have ruled out any instances of groping or harassment of children in a neighborhood located on the border of Saltillo and Arteaga by residents of Asian origin.

Sources from the Children and Family Protection Agency (PRONNIF), which met with seven minors in the area, indicated that the children were attempting to interact with their new Asian neighbors, as their language caught their attention and made them laugh.

Faced with this, the Asian people allegedly pretended to take photos of them as a way to “scare them away.”

Following initial investigations, PRONNIF ruled out the possibility of sexual harassment, while the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) reiterated that no formal complaints have been received.

In recent days, residents of the Puerta del Rey neighborhood in eastern Saltillo have accused Asian individuals—who moved into the area last week—of taking photos and even groping minors who were in common areas.

Municipal Police officers responded to the neighborhood after the report, but after interviewing neighbors and the suspects, they found no evidence to warrant an arrest.

Despite this, PRONNIF interviewed the families of the children involved, as according to reports on social media, the foreigners had groped the children. Upon verification, it was found that the touching occurred on the arm and head. Therefore, it was determined that there was no sexual or harassment crime.

It's worth mentioning that people of Asian origin live in Saltillo because they work for a company that makes baby food.
