Saraperos falls to Tecolotes in the second game; Zach Mort takes the loss.

In the second game of the border series, the Saraperos de Saltillo failed to decipher the home pitching or contain the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos, falling 5-0 at La Junta Park . Starter Zach Mort pitched five innings but ended up taking the loss after allowing damage in the middle of the game.

The home team opened the scoring in the third inning. With two men on base, Yadiel Hernández hit a grounder to right field that allowed Francisco Arcia to score from third base. On the same play, Cade Gotta was thrown out trying to score, thanks to a strong defensive combination that included Brandon Villarreal , catcher Julián León , and shortstop Jonathan Araúz.

In the fifth inning, Tecolotes extended their lead. Arcia made another splash, this time with a single that allowed him to reach home. Harold Ramírez lined a run to right field to drive in the second run of the game, taking advantage of the offensive work of the border club with two outs.

The home team's offense continued in the eighth inning with a renewed surge. Johan Camargo hit an RBI double that drove in Antonio Castañeda and Harold Ramírez to make it 4-0. Later, Camargo scored the fifth run of the game on a Jordan Luplow single to left field.

For their part, the Saraperos failed to generate any damage in the batter's box. Despite some attempts in the early innings, the offense couldn't score runs against the Tecos pitching staff, which kept the score at zero until the end of the game.

Zach Mort, who started for Saltillo , pitched five innings, allowing two earned runs and receiving defensive support, although the offensive support was lacking. With this result, the series was tied at one game each and will be decided in the third game.

Saltillo will look to regain the offensive output it displayed in the first game of the series and close out its visit to the border territory in the Mexican Baseball League with a win.
