The young woman who faked her kidnapping and demanded more than 500,000 pesos from her family is imprisoned.

The Attorney General's Office of Guayaquil, Ecuador, is pursuing legal proceedings against Génesis Dayanna PV for the alleged crime of simulated kidnapping , after she faked her disappearance and demanded a ransom payment of $27,000 (approximately 500,000 Mexican pesos) from her family and partner.
The incident occurred in the early hours of August 5, 2025, in the La Alborada residential area, located north of Guayaquil . According to the official report, the woman left her home in a car and did not contact her again. Later, a relative received a message from her phone number, requesting payment under threat of life-threatening conditions.
Location and discovery operation in a hotelFollowing the alert, the alleged victim's relatives and partner appeared at the Prosecutor's Office and UNASE , launching an emergency operation. The investigation included:
- Compilation of stories from acquaintances.
- Examination of security cameras in the area.
- Tracking the cell phone of the alleged kidnapping victim.
The device was found in a hotel on Francisco de Orellana Avenue . Security footage showed the woman entering the hotel of her own volition at 12:22 a.m., accompanied by a man and carrying bags of food. At 8:00 a.m., she left the hotel and was arrested by officers.
Confession and hearingDuring the police interrogation, Génesis Dayanna PV voluntarily confessed that she had not been kidnapped and that she had sent the messages herself , soliciting money from her acquaintances.
During the hearing to assess the flagrant violation and to file charges, the Prosecutor's Office presented a series of evidence such as:
- Report and arrest.
- Accounts from both the arresting officers and the person arrested.
- Mobile registration.
The Criminal Guarantees Judge accepted the request for preventive detention and ordered the transfer to the Guayas Women's Deprivation of Liberty Center No. 2 .
