Who is Ana Prada, the TVE presenter involved in a controversy?

With the San Fermín festival in full swing, Spanish Television has found itself embroiled in controversy during the live broadcast of the program Vive San Fermín, which airs the traditional running of the bulls every morning on La 1. It all happened on Sunday, July 6, when, in reference to Juan Echepare, the man who launched the first chupinazo in Pamplona in 1931, the network declared that he "mysteriously disappeared."

However, following a complaint from the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory (ARMH), TVE clarified this Tuesday, through presenter Ana Pardo, that he was actually murdered by the Falange in July 1936 and that his remains remain unknown.

"RTVE has received a complaint from the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory, in reference to a piece we broadcast last month regarding the Chupinazo in Pamplona," explained the journalist, who continued with the correction: "We are talking about the first Chupinazo launched in Pamplona in 1931 by Juan Echepare. Perhaps we weren't entirely specific or accurate, which is why we wanted to make this clarification when talking about the disappearance of the first Chupinazo launcher," she added before clarifying the true reasons for his disappearance.

"The truth is that the Historical Memory of Navarre documentary collection records that Echepare was murdered by the Falange in July 1936 for his defense of the Republic; his remains remain unknown." Finally, Prada concluded his remarks on a conciliatory note: "We wanted to make this clarification so that no one feels offended."

Ana Prada's television career

Ana Prada is a journalist who has spent part of her career at Spanish National Television (TVE). Her beginnings weren't necessarily related to journalism as such, as she trained in Audiovisual Communication. However, her professional career has been spent in front of the camera, as a reporter. In fact, she considers herself a "street journalist," having worked in this capacity on the legendary program España Directo .

After these studies, she further focused her training on her current profession, completing a master's degree in Television Journalism and completing an internship at TVE, writing news programs. She also worked at Popular TV and Localia TV Madrid, before moving to Telecinco, on the program El buscador , and later as a reporter on El Programa de Ana Rosa.

She defines herself as "a Madrilenian from Sanabria" because, although she was born in Madrid, her family and origins are precisely in this town in Zamora, although she carries out her work from Valencia, where she did various reports for the program, which has recently been canceled.

"Last live broadcast of España Directo after 9 years of broadcasting. Thank you so much to a wonderful team that has become a great family and to everyone who has followed us from the other side of the screen. And thank you España Directo because you are a history of television and of our lives," the journalist wrote on her Twitter account due to the end of the program where she worked.
