Dead Kennedys or when nostalgia overcomes everything

Paral·lel 62 will host a concert that's both eagerly awaited and unusual tonight. American band Dead Kennedys, famous in the '80s for their hardcore punk and punk rock, their politically satirical lyrics, and hits like "Holiday in Cambodia" and "Police Truck ," will take the stage as part of their extensive tour of Spain.

It's not a bad introduction if it weren't for the fact that this is a group that hasn't released new material since 1986, the year they split up, apart from a few recorded concerts.

Vocalist Jello Biafra was caught "with his hands in the till" and refuses to return.

Furthermore, in their multiple comeback tours in Europe and America, they have not had the original vocalist, Jello Biafra, who according to the other members is not interested in returning and who, in addition, they caught at one point "with his hands in the till."

In 2022, original drummer DH Peligro died of an overdose, so the band is now led by founders East Bay Ray and Klaus Flouride, and singer Ron Skip Greer, who joined in 2008.

But if anything can overcome it all, it's nostalgia, and lyrics like those in a political moment like this. For all these reasons, the Dead Kennedys are a safe bet.
