Financial education: Mendoza teachers are now training in Bitcoin and blockchain.

An unprecedented training program for secondary school teachers on Bitcoin, blockchain, and financial education concluded this Saturday in Mendoza . The program, organized by the General Directorate of Schools ( DGE ) in conjunction with the NGO Bitcoin Argentina, took place in person during two meetings held on June 7 and 14.

The training was aimed at teachers of subjects such as Psychology, Accounting, Programming, Law, and other subjects directly related to the topics covered. Forty teachers participated, learning fundamental concepts of the crypto ecosystem, its technical functioning, legal and ethical implications, as well as contemporary issues affecting youth.

The training, lasting a total of six hours, was led by industry experts. The first session was led by instructor Alberto Conti, who covered topics such as the history of money, myths surrounding Bitcoin, an introduction to blockchain technology, types of cryptocurrencies , and how wallets and exchanges work .

During the second session held today, Juan Manuel Cáceres spoke about the Ethereum network, smart contracts, cybersecurity , legal aspects of the crypto ecosystem, and scam prevention, in addition to providing reliable tools and resources to deepen knowledge on the subject.

This was the first official training on cryptocurrencies and blockchain promoted by the DGE, marking a milestone in the pedagogical incorporation of emerging technologies into the classroom.

"It is crucial that teachers understand and incorporate these topics , not only because of their technological and economic relevance, but also because of their social and cultural impact, especially among young people," the organization stated.

At the end of the activity, participants were awarded certificates of participation and a selection of study materials to continue exploring the crypto universe from an educational perspective.
