Third running of the bulls of San Fermín | A gored bull in an electric bull run by Álvaro Núñez's debuting bulls
When you show up at a strange house, you're a little shy at first. You ask permission to sit down, even to go to the bathroom. Respect, politeness. This is how the bulls from Álvaro Núñez , a ranch debuting at San Fermín, have arrived in Pamplona . A novelty, though, with a catch , as these animals are related to the Núñez del Cuvillo bulls, already classics at the San Fermín festival.
Respect, of course, in the first section of the bull run, at the start of the Santo Domingo climb, for much of this stretch, letting the oxen take charge of the herd, since they are the hosts and know the route. One of the bulls even fell slightly behind and sprinted to join the group. It was all very formal.
But it happens that one has been in a strange house for a while and one gets used to it. And Álvaro Núñez 's bulls didn't just grab a beer from the fridge without warning; they put their feet up on the table.
Already at the Town Hall and Mercaderes streets, one of the Núñez brothers took the lead and accelerated, threatening the young men approaching the Estafeta curve. From that point, the festivities began: at the fence protecting the curve , the first bull knocked down a young man , and the soap-maker following behind knocked down another almost unintentionally, slipping due to the inertia of the race. At the exit of the curve, another bull became enraged by a runner, crossed completely, and launched a powerful demolition. Immediately afterward, he caught another young man's navy blue shirt with his right horn and dramatically dragged him for several meters, failing to gore him. In the middle of the herd, another veteran runner found himself completely sandwiched between bulls and oxen and ended up falling.

From there, the herd gradually separated, leaving many open spaces for the runners, a complete mass on the Estafeta straight. But nothing was simple: several small piles, other young men crushed... It looked like a war, with one of Núñez's men behind, threatening to repeat the scene of the loose bull on the straight seen the day before with the Cebada Gago men.
In the Telefónica section, in addition to the usual difficulties on the right side of the running of the bulls, one of the bulls fell, remaining prone for several seconds without being able to recover. This was the last bull to enter the ring, one of the darkest chestnuts, just two minutes and 20 seconds after the start of the race. The injury report includes one gored by a bull: CSG, a 25-year-old from Cortijo Capel (Murcia). Curiously, the first gored bull, yesterday by the cebadagagos , is also of Murcia origin.

Bulls from Álvaro Núñez for the bullfighters Morante de la Puebla, Roca Rey and Tomás Rufo.
