So far this year, the CBA has accumulated an 11.3% increase . Thus, a three-person household needed a total of $1,282,468 to cover both baskets: $398,282 for the CBA and $884,186 for the CBT.
A typical family of four needed $1,610,905 in May to cover their expenses. $500,281 was the total from the CBA (Basic Basic Income) and $1,110,624 from the CBT (Basic Basic Income).
Finally, a household of five people claimed a total of $1,694,317 in the fifth month of the year: $526,185 from the CBA and $1,168,132 from the CBT.
Thus , both baskets recorded their lowest monthly increases in the last twelve months. Compared to May's inflation, both baskets were below both the monthly CPI figure (1.5%) and the year-over-year figure (43.5%).
