More than 50% of Dominicans plan to give gifts on Mother's Day

Mother's Day continues to establish itself as one of the most important holidays for Dominicans. According to a study conducted by Annalect Dominican Republic, more than 50% of those surveyed expressed their intention to give a gift on this special occasion. This year it is celebrated on May 25th.
Notably, 71% of them plan to entertain more than one maternal figure, which demonstrates a broader and more inclusive vision of the role of mother in today's society .
The report also reveals important consumption patterns . Thirty-seven percent of respondents plan to spend between 3,000 and 6,000 pesos on gifts, while 25% will spend 6,000 pesos or more.
Only 11% plan to spend less than 1,000 euros, confirming a significant willingness to spend on this date, which is highly emotionally and culturally significant .
Among the most popular gifts are cash (26%) and personal items (23%), appreciated for their usefulness and practical value. These are followed by personalized gifts (17%) and household appliances (15%).
Flowers (5%) and alcoholic beverages (3%), although in smaller proportions, are also among the options considered.
Where will these purchases be made?Ninety-one percent intend to shop for Mother's Day in physical stores , and 12% plan to do so online. Although the highest rate of visits is to physical stores, purchases are possible through both channels.
Interest in celebrating Mother's Day begins to manifest itself in mid-April, with a notable increase in the first few days of May. This trend progressively intensifies as the days go by, demonstrating the strong emotional connection this day generates in the Dominican population.
