Nine injured in Ryanair emergency landing in Germany

A Ryanair flight to Milan was forced to make an emergency landing in southern Germany due to severe turbulence caused by a thunderstorm late Wednesday, and police said nine passengers were injured.

Although the plane landed safely, nine people between the ages of 2 and 59 were injured in the turbulence, according to police.

A woman suffered a head injury, her two-year-old son suffered bruises, and another 59-year-old woman complained of back pain.

The airline is arranging a bus transfer to Milan, as local aviation authorities have not authorized the departure of flights from Memmingen, according to police.
