The dollar closed the week rising and again above 4,100 pesos.

At the close of the week of June 3-6, the first trading week of the sixth month of the year, the dollar in Colombia rebounded from the previous day, rising and closing above the 4,100 peso barrier.
This Friday, the currency opened and closed at the same price: 4,115 pesos. During the day, it also traded at 4,118, 4,126, 4,145, 4,152, 4,164, and 4,168 pesos.

Additionally, the highest price recorded was 4,170 pesos and the lowest was 4,110 pesos.
At the end of the day, the dollar's average trading price was 4,138.73 pesos, 41.07 pesos above the daily Representative Market Rate (TRM), which was 4,097.66 pesos.
However, compared to the previous week, which only had four trading days due to the June 2 holiday, the greenback fell 9.27 pesos (4,148 pesos, TRM on Tuesday, June 3).

Rodrigo Lama, Chief Business Officer of the Latin American fintech company Global66, believes the dollar will remain weak globally, pressured by a combination of factors that will reinforce the downward trend.

" This set of elements could lead the dollar index (DXY) to consolidate below the 100-point threshold in the short term ," the analyst said.
Among the factors are rising US sovereign debt yields, reflecting growing fiscal risks; the resurgence of trade tensions; and the possibility of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve in the second half of the year.
For Quasar Elizundia, Market Research Strategist at Pepperstone, the dollar faces a key test: " Growing economic uncertainty, combined with worrying technical signals and rising expectations about possible rate cuts, is shaping a complex environment that financial markets will be closely monitoring ."
