The peso's strengthening occurred despite the recent surge in annual headline inflation in Mexico, which reached its highest point in six months. This increase was driven primarily by rising prices for goods, energy, and agricultural products. In contrast, the services sector showed a slight slowdown. Most worrying, however, was core inflation, which accelerated to 4.06%, its highest level in eleven years.

Internationally, some attention turned to the United States, where new protests were reported in Los Angeles, California, outside the offices of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

These protests, which arose in a context of rising migration tensions, even led to the intervention of the National Guard. Although localized, these incidents generate a perception of institutional instability that could affect market confidence in the region.

Over the past week, the dollar has accumulated a 1.01% decline. However, on an annual basis, it still holds a 5.94% gain. In recent days, it has recorded five consecutive days of losses. Weekly volatility has been considerably lower compared to the past year, indicating a recent period of greater stability in the exchange rate.
