The Ministry of Mines and Energy announced a set of 19 actions to reactivate renewable energy projects in Colombia , many of which are facing delays due to paperwork, licensing, or a lack of coordination between entities. The announcement was made by the acting Deputy Minister of Energy, Jorge Andrés Cristancho, at the 8th LATAM Renewables Meeting and Fair in Barranquilla.

Among the most significant measures is the issuance of a decree with a new methodology for allocating connection points, including a special chapter for cases such as the offshore wind round and projects that already have all the permits but are awaiting connection. A mechanism is also proposed to allow projects that will not continue to release their connection points without being penalized, facilitating their reallocation. Other key actions include: - Delegation to UPME to create the National Information System for Renewable Projects. - Legal review of the resolution on permits for the exploration and exploitation of geothermal energy. - Calling the Attorney General's Office to support the inter-institutional roundtable led by the Ministry of Energy, to monitor and improve the management of entities such as environmental corporations.

These measures are part of the 6GW Plus plan, the government's central strategy to diversify and decarbonize the country's energy matrix.PORTFOLIO
