Wholesale supermarkets , through the Argentine Chamber of Distributors and Wholesale Self-Service Stores (CADAM), announced yesterday that they will launch the "CADAM National Wholesale Black Week ," which will feature discounts of up to 40% on products.

Black Week will take place from May 19 to 25 , and will feature special discounts on food , beverages , hygiene products, perfumes, and cleaning products.

"It will be a joint effort across the entire traditional retail chain," said Juan Castro, president of CADAM. Along the same lines, he added that this week "will start from the beginning, with dozens of industries supporting the wholesalers' initiative, which supplies local stores and supermarkets." Castro noted that there are approximately 140,000 local businesses across the country.

Large wholesalers as well as SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) distributors will participate in "Black Week . " "It's worth noting that more than 150 stores participated in last year's edition," the statement explained. The announcement also criticized the "hidden costs" and the tax burden (especially the IIBB and municipal taxes) and called them "responsible for price distortions."

They also highlighted the success of lifting the currency controls and eliminating the SIRAS (Argentine Import System) : "The great peculiarity of this government's administration is that things happen from the bottom up, not from the top down," they stated in response to requests from businesspeople.

Prices Care: for now, local wholesalers do not adhere

Wholesalers agree with industries to launch the first Black Week of the year.

CADAM's vice president, Armando Fariña , was excited to have been able to expose INACAP, and called on the industry to "expose" its "hidden costs" : "When a consumer buys, for example, a bottle of wine and meat at a local store or supermarket, the final price includes a series of mandatory and "solidarity" contributions and fees , which have been collected for more than 20 or 30 years. Many of these charges accumulate throughout the entire commercial chain , from the producer to the point of sale," explained CADAM.
