1st Congenital Heart Disease Care Conference held in León
The Christus Muguerza Hospital in Altagracia de León hosted the "1st Congenital Heart Disease Care Conference" as part of the support provided by Dr. Marco Ruiz and the Niño x Niño Foundation to infants, with the goal of building relationships to support the most vulnerable community.

Child x Child seeks to provide care to children with limited resources who suffer from an illness that puts their lives or quality of life at risk.
During the event, medical evaluations were conducted on children previously referred by the foundation, which has served nearly 400 children in Guanajuato since 2020. Its work focuses on detecting conditions that put children's lives or quality of life at risk, such as congenital heart disease, one of the leading causes of infant mortality.

The event featured participation by Dr. Marco Ruiz, pediatric interventional cardiologist; Fernanda de la Vega, director of the foundation; and Dr. Gilberto Orozco, medical director of the Christus Muguerza Altagracia Hospital, who highlighted the institution's social work.
Regarding the role that the CHRISTUS MUGUERZA Altagracia León Hospital plays in social and medical interventions, the medical director, Gilberto Orozco, explained, "We love being involved at an institutional level. Many people don't know that, although this is a private hospital, we have initiatives like this one, with social work, there are resources that are provided to vulnerable people, in this case children."

Fernanda de la Vega, director of the Niño x Niño Foundation, explained that the 1st Congenital Heart Disease Care Day was the initiative of Dr. Marco Ruiz, who approached them because of the work they have been doing at the foundation.
"We focus on the early detection of congenital heart disease, as it is one of the leading causes of infant mortality in the region."
Dr. Marco Ruíz explained that heart disease is very common, but detection is infrequent, noting that there is no culture of detection.

He indicated that one of the challenges they have been facing is expanding and disseminating the support they offer to the entire population.
The specialists agreed on the importance of early detection and called on society to join this cause to expand the reach of these child health campaigns.
