Gracie Abrams Wants to Pair Chanel Couture With Her Everyday Jeans

A Chanel show, specifically couture, is like a work of art. For Gracie Abrams, it’s also an opportunity to express herself through fashion. The singer-songwriter recently returned from Cannes and made her Glastonbury debut—where she also hard-launched her relationship with Paul Mescal. Now, she’s touched down in Paris for couture week alongside Gen Z’s biggest It girls, including Lorde and Romy Mars (who attended alongside her sister, Cosima, and mother, Sofia Coppola). “I love the people Chanel includes at its shows,” Abrams exclusively tells ELLE. “Everyone is so kind and smart, and to see such beauty in its collections among truly good human beings always feels very lucky.”

Abrams’s ensemble was a low-key bridal moment, not unlike the hooded Chanel dress she wore to the 2025 Grammys. The tiered white poplin look—from the cruise 2025 collection—was perfectly playful and complemented by a subtle veil. “Frankly, I felt like a summer cupcake in the dress,” she says. While attending Cannes, the singer sported an edgier look, opting for a black midi dress and an off-the-shoulder shawl. Explains Abrams, “We were thinking it would be nice to wear something that felt like other side of the coin—lighter.”
Attending a show like Chanel is always a dream come true, but it can also provide the best outfit inspiration. The look she wants for her own closet? “There’s this jacket that I fell in love with. My favorite Chanel pieces are always the ones that I can imagine myself with my favorite jeans,” she says. And she’s right—that ultra high-low styling is what makes Chanel tweed so iconic today. Abrams adds: “That jacket had that quality while also looking like a piece of art.”
