Maximiliano Pullaro questioned the end of the reduction in withholding taxes and export duties: "It's not looking at the productive sector."

The governor of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro , harshly criticized the national government's decision not to extend the decree lowering withholding taxes, which temporarily reduced the Export Duties (DEX) on agricultural products. "It ignores the productive interior of the Argentine Republic," he stated.

Pullaro, who heads one of the provinces with the greatest influence in the agricultural sector , maintained that the tax reduction scheme must be maintained. "But even more so, we need them to be eliminated completely," he asserted. The decree, which expires on June 30, had been implemented at the beginning of the year to boost production.

"Gringos, the workers, don't take their money abroad, they don't put it in offshore accounts or cryptocurrencies . They invest absolutely everything they earn in technology," the Santa Fe governor emphasized. His statement also served as a dig at President Javier Milei , amid the financial scandal linked to the $LIBRA case.

He also warned that if the government does not change its position, it risks making "a very serious mistake." According to Pullaro, eliminating the measure would be a setback that would directly affect the country's productive core.

Maximiliano Pullaro not only defended the agricultural sector. He also expressed concern about the consequences of opening up imports for domestic industry . "The opening of our country must be strategic and intelligent, but always safeguarding jobs," he stated.

In parallel, the governor led an institutional claim before the Supreme Court of Justice on Wednesday, in a conciliation hearing with the national government over a multimillion-dollar debt he owes to the Santa Fe pension fund . The meeting was held at the Courthouse in Buenos Aires.

Former governors Omar Perotti and Antonio Bonfatti also participated in the meeting, accompanying Pullaro as a demonstration of the cross-party political support for the claim. The presence of leaders from both Peronism and the Socialist Party reflected the unity of the Santa Fe political spectrum on this issue.

Santa Fe Governor Maximiliano Pullaro described the Supreme Court hearing on the national pension debt with the province as "good" and highlighted the support of Omar Perotti and Antonio Bonfatti.
