New resignation in the National Government: Health Services Superintendent Gabriel Oriolo resigns.

The Superintendent of Health Services , Gabriel Oriolo , sent his resignation letter to President Javier Milei , which will be effective on Monday the 30th through the Official Gazette. The current General Manager of the agency, Claudio Stivelman , will take his place to maintain the reform path initiated in December 2023.

"I am leaving with the peace of mind of having fulfilled the central objective that we set ourselves from day one: to recover the supervisory role of the Superintendency, a role that has not been fulfilled in recent years," Oriolo stated through his X account and denounced that the Argentine health system "has been dragging a structural crisis for decades, which required reorganizing the system with profound transformations."

Oriolo highlighted the "historic reforms" implemented during his administration, including the end of benefit triangulation, streamlining claims responses, reforming the healthcare system, publishing plan values, streamlining the political structure, and promoting joint purchasing. "There is undoubtedly still much work to be done and areas to improve, but everything is in place to be able to further develop everything we did over the last year and a half with those who will take over the organization," he added.

For his part, Health Minister Mario Lugones thanked Oriolo for "all the work he has done." "During all this time, he led very important changes that were necessary to improve the social security system and private healthcare," Lugones stated, confirming the promotion of Stivelman and Juan José Picón, an official from the Superintendency of Health Services who will fill the vacant position left by Stivelman.
