Police bring one of the alleged suspects in the Vidal-Quadras attack to Spain.

National Police officers transferred one of the alleged suspects in the attempted murder of former PP leader and Vox co-founder Alejo Vidal-Quadras in 2023 from the Netherlands to Spain on Friday.
According to the General Directorate of Police, the initials of the person who has been transferred to Spain are MA, although his identity has not been revealed.
A year ago, in June 2024, Mehrez Ayari, a 38-year-old Tunisian national, was arrested in the Dutch city of Haarlem as the alleged perpetrator of the attack. He is also suspected of plotting the murder of an Iranian activist and journalist living in the Netherlands.

According to information provided by the police, MA's transfer was carried out by officers from the Sirene Office, part of the National Police's International Cooperation Division.
The transfer was made pursuant to a European arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in the attempted murder of Vidal-Quadras in November 2023.
The operation was made possible thanks to an investigation by the General Information Commissioner's Office, and officers from the Police Intervention Unit also participated in the transfer, the statement added.
