The "radicals with wigs" formed an inter-bloc with La Libertad Avanza, and the ruling party secured key votes in the Chamber of Deputies.

Five deputies from the Radical Civic Union (UCR) decided to distance themselves from the rest of the bloc and form a new inter-bloc with La Libertad Avanza . The members of the so-called " Interior League " made this change at a time of intense negotiations between the National Government and the various legislative blocs to secure support for the upcoming presidential vetoes.
"What unites us is a conviction: Argentina cannot go backwards. That's why, from the beginning, we have been guaranteeing Javier Milei's governability. Today, we are deepening that stance and, together with other deputies from the Interior, we are forming a bloc with LLA," commented Tucumán legislator Mariano Campero .

The deputies who will join the ruling bloc are Federico Tournier of Corrientes; Francisco Monti of Catamarca; Pablo Cervi of Neuquén; Luis Picat of Córdoba; and Mariano Campero of Tucumán. In addition to the announcement, the legislators shared a photo with Martín Menem , president of the Chamber of Deputies and Karina Milei's right-hand man in La Libertad Avanza.
One of the people familiar with the negotiations told TN: " The idea was born in December 2024, we worked on it, and after building trust and a sense of agreement, it materialized ." The support in Congress could be complemented with support in the provincial elections.
The "radicals with wigs," as the group was nicknamed, gained prominence in 2024 as they were crucial in helping the national government maintain various vetoes, especially against pensions and university funding. Now, the president faces a new challenge, having proposed vetoing three new bills: the pension increase, the reactivation of the pension moratorium, and the declaration of a disability emergency.
At the time of approval, the bills had the two-thirds vote necessary to protect them from potential vetoes; Given this situation, the ruling party has reopened negotiations with the provinces to sustain the new vetoes. The Executive Branch is reportedly considering granting a small increase for the disability area as a negotiating tool.
