The DN Mayor's Office supervises the work to mitigate the trough

The mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía , visited several locations to supervise the work being done to mitigate the effects of the trough that has caused rain in the capital .
"We are here to personally review the measures taken to address the rains that have affected the capital , always with the aim of safeguarding our people in mind," he said in a press release.
The tour was led by directors and operational brigades of the council , who visited several of the places where situations traditionally arise due to the incidence of rain .
During the day, the cleaning of several critical areas in the Los Praditos sector was monitored, as well as the proper functioning of the lagoons in the Fernández and Las Praderas residential areas, among other sites.
Prevention CommitteeYesterday, Friday, the Mayor's Office activated the National District Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Response Committee to coordinate immediate responses to the rains , for which the capital was currently under red alert .
For today, the Dominican Meteorological Institute (Indomet) has predicted that the trough has begun to move away from the national territory, so rainfall is expected to decrease over the next 48 hours.
So far, 24 districts are under alert , according to information provided by the Emergency Operations Center .

- Follow the guidelines and directions of civil protection agencies.
- In the event of heavy rains , residents in high-risk areas near rivers, streams, and gullies should be alert and take the necessary precautionary measures to prevent possible flash floods and rises.
- People should refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines with high volumes of water , and not use spas in provinces under alert .
