Today the Kings visit the Abbey of Montserrat and Badia del Vallès

The King and Queen will visit the Abbey of Montserrat (Barcelona) this Monday morning to participate in a day of recognition for Abbot Oliba, as part of the millennium of the monastery's founding. This afternoon, they will visit Badia del Vallès (Barcelona) for the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the housing estate.
According to the Abbey of Montserrat, this is a private event, presided over by Felipe and Letizia, to which representatives of the economic and business community of Catalonia and the rest of Spain have been invited.
Felipe and Letizia preside over a ceremony in recognition of Abbot Oliba on the monastery's millennium.The event will be attended by the abbot of Montserrat, Manel Gasch; the abbot of the papal Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls of the Vatican, Donato Ogliari; the abbot-president of the Sublacense-Cassinese congregation, Ignasi M. Fossas, and the abbot emeritus of Montserrat, Josep Maria Soler, is expected to attend.
Following the veneration of the Virgin of Montserrat, the millennium commissioner, Bernat Juliol, will welcome everyone, followed by Donato Ogliari, who will speak about Benedictine values.
In addition, the Abbot of Montserrat will lead a discussion on "Abbot Oliba and Benedictine Values as the Basis for Peace," and Ignasi Fossas will lead a discussion on "Benedictine Values as the Basis for Peace in Global Geopolitics," moderated by the Millennium Commissioner.
Felipe VI will be in charge of closing the event, with which the monastery aims to make "all civil society" a part of the millennium.
The King and Queen's official agenda also includes a visit to Badia del Vallès, starting at 5:15 p.m., to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the housing estate.
