Trump announces the completion of the largest prisoner exchange between kyiv and Moscow.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed this Friday that the prisoner exchange process between Ukraine and Russia has been completed, as agreed upon in the negotiations between the two countries.
"A major prisoner exchange has just been completed between Russia and Ukraine. It will take effect shortly. Congratulations to both sides on this negotiation. Could this lead to anything significant?" Trump said in a brief message on his Truth Social network, in which he gave no further details on the matter.
This process has not yet been confirmed by the governments of Ukraine and Russia, which recently reached an agreement to carry out the largest prisoner exchange since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine.
Moscow and kyiv announced yesterday that they had exchanged lists of 1,000 prisoners from each country to be exchanged as part of this exchange.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Moscow had handed its list to kyiv and was awaiting a response. Later, Peskov reported that Russia had also received the Ukrainian list of prisoners.
And Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Wednesday that his administration had already compiled a list of names of Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Russia who are to be included in the exchange.
Russians and Ukrainians agreed to carry out the largest prisoner exchange since the start of the war in February 2022 in their first direct negotiations in three years, hosted by the Turkish city of Istanbul.
Furthermore, after the talks ended, Russia announced an agreement with Ukraine to explore a future ceasefire and a possible summit between the presidents of both countries.
The second round of direct negotiations between the parties could be held in the Vatican, although Moscow and kyiv have not yet confirmed this information.
