Vox's first challenge to Mazón after their agreement in Corts: eliminating regional funding

Just hours after jointly approving the 2025 Valencian Generalitat Budget, Vox presented a Non-Law Proposal (NLP) against one of the PP's main demands. The far-right parliamentary group announced yesterday morning a NLP for special urgent processing to demonstrate the Valencian Parliament's rejection of "any attempt to promote a reform of the regional financing model." They believe that this system, whose renewal the rest of the parliament has been calling for for years, will only contribute "to deepening a system that makes us unequal, erodes public services, divides us, and allows separatist waste and blackmail." These demands run counter to the rhetoric of the Valencian President, Carlos Mazón, and are particularly relevant in the worst-funded autonomous region in Spain.
The far-right parliamentary group announced yesterday morning a special urgent processing PNLOne of the arguments the PP party used on Wednesday to justify some of the budget cuts being debated in the House was precisely the underfunding of the Valencian Community and the current government's lack of willingness to move forward with its reform.

In fact, at next week's Conference of Presidents, changing the system is not on the agenda, prompting loud complaints from the Valencian People's Party (PPS). With Pedro Sánchez in the government, the PSPV's vindictive tone has been diluted. A few days ago, President Carlos Mazón himself, following his meeting with public service providers of the Valencian government, called for, aside from the activation of the extraordinary FLA, a reform of the financing model in light of the financial difficulties facing the Generalitat's treasury.
Vox's proposal, like the vast majority of initiatives presented by this party at the Valencian Parliament, does not come from Valencian deputies but will be presented in all regional chambers. This decision was made after a meeting held in Madrid a few days ago, attended by the party's spokespersons in the various regional parliaments. However, the ultras' proposal takes on special significance in a region like Valencia, which, along with Murcia, is at the bottom of the current system.
Vox's proposal takes on special relevance in an underfunded autonomous region. The text of the National Action Plan (PNL) presented by Vox in the Corts proposes "implementing a national vision of political and administrative action; overcoming the current financing model and establishing one based on solidarity and ensuring the provision of quality public services; and the urgent need to reduce ineffective public spending, allowing for massive tax cuts and the recovery of powers by the State." Once again, the commitment to centralizing powers reappears in a party that, let's not forget, presides over the Corts Valencianes, a symbol of Valencian self-government.

An initiative that demonstrates that although the Valencian People's Party (PP) has achieved a degree of stability with the approval of the budget, Vox's vindictive tone will not slow down for the remainder of the legislative term, nor will its eagerness to impose its ideological agenda.
