WhatsApp will be much more useful thanks to this feature: goodbye to forgetting that someone wrote you a message

WhatsApp has become an indispensable tool in our daily lives , whether for personal or work use, but with so many chats and groups, it's easy to forget to reply to a message. Until now, the most used messaging app in Spain only showed notifications when you had unread messages , but once opened, they disappeared even if they hadn't been answered. This could lead to forgetting to respond to an important message.

But to solve this situation, WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows you to set a reminder on any message . In other words, you can ask the app to remind you later when you reread a specific message.

How to ask WhatsApp to remind you of a message

According to WaBetaInfo , using it is quite simple. You just have to long-press the message you want to remind and choose the "Remind me" option. A window will then open where you can select the time you want WhatsApp to remind you: every 2, 8, or 24 hours, or even set a custom time and date.

When that time comes, you'll receive a notification on your phone with the full text of the message , and if it included an image, video, or GIF, you'll be able to see a preview. Tapping the notification will take you directly to the chat where the message was sent. A small bell will also appear on the message, indicating that you have an active reminder.

Plus, these reminders are completely private, so no one in the chat will know you created them , and WhatsApp won't save the information. Currently, this feature is only available to users with the beta version (2.25.21.14) of WhatsApp for Android installed, but it's expected to arrive soon in an upcoming update.
