Art Charles wins the 2025 Home Run Derby with 43 home runs at Harp Helú

Art Charles became the new champion of the 2025 Home Run Derby of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) after a standout performance at Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium, home of the Diablos Rojos del México. The Leones de Yucatán slugger had an explosive night with a total of 43 home runs, 15 of which came in the final round to secure the title.

The American baseball player added his name to the short list of long-haired winners of the event, being only the second player from the Leones de Yucatán to take the Derby , after Luis “Pepón” Juárez achieved it in 2018. Charles , one of the most consistent hitters in the tournament, was just two home runs away from the record of 45 set by Marc Flores .

The competition remained tight until the final round, with David Hensley of the Durango Caliente as the main contender.
