Atlas announces its third withdrawal

Atlas announces its third withdrawal

This Thursday, Atlas' board officially announced that Leonardo Flores has completed his time as a player at the AGA Academy, as his loan has ended and he must return to the team that owns his federation rights.

During his stay, which lasted one year or two tournaments from the 2024 Apertura to the 2025 Clausura, Leo Flores played 17 matches for Atlas, where he only provided one assist and did not score a single goal , despite his original position being center forward. He played only 692 minutes.

Furthermore, when he first arrived at Atlas, which was then managed by Beñat San José, Flores Cisneros suffered a broken collarbone in his debut match , causing him to miss nine games.

And despite being a natural striker, the 22-year-old was used by Gonzalo Pineda this semester as a right-back in his five-man lineup , so he was kept away from the opposing goal in most of the matches in which he was required.

Towards the end of his stay, he lost the confidence of his coach and was no longer called up by Pineda from Matchday 13 against Mazatlán until Matchday 17 against Chivas in the Clásico Tapatío, so he did not play in the last five matches.

Thus, Leo Flores is the team's third departure, adding to the already confirmed departures of Brian "Huevo" Lozano and Idekel Domínguez . Before the team returns from vacation to start its preseason on May 21, more departure announcements are expected, with Mauro Manotas's being the most likely, as well as at least one of the undisputed starters.
