Chaos in Formula 1: a power cut suspended testing in Bahrain when a rookie was dominating

Formula 1. The workers of the ten teams had to work in the dark, while Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes led the tests.
Formula 1 testing in Bahrain started off well and when it seemed to be an ideal day to analyse data from the new cars, everything came to a halt due to a power outage that affected the most technically advanced sport in the world and teams such as Alpine .
Screens containing telemetry and lights around the circuit were switched off at 17:03 local time (11:03 Argentine time) with two hours of pre-season testing remaining.

The truth is that the mechanics had to make do and improvise with flashlights while the 10 drivers who were on the track returned to the pits , thus demonstrating more than enviable adaptability.
To overcome the difficulties in the paddock, teams used generators to keep their tyres warm in cold and windy weather. Rain also made its appearance just before some of the lights came back on , even though the timing screens were still off an hour later. This was the chaotic start to the first of three days of testing ahead of the season opener in Australia on 16 March.
