Domènec Torrent backs down and a new candidate emerges at Chivas

Chivas has taken a step back in its search for a coach for the upcoming season. Despite multiple meetings and weeks of discussion, the club's management was unable to reach an agreement with Domenec Torrent , the team's primary option.
Negotiations stalled after the Spaniard asked for a raise, which is why Guadalajara's board was unable to reach the desired terms with the Spanish coach, so the project that was emerging with him at the helm has been put on hold.
Now the red-and-white team is looking for more options, and it seems they have one on their list. According to journalist César Luis Merlo , who was the first to report on the failed negotiation with Torrent, Chivas is targeting Jorge Almirón .
Almirón is the technical director of Colo-Colo in Chile , and although he is currently going through a difficult time with the Chilean club, both in the local league and in the Copa Libertadores , he has a considerable career in Mexican football, both as a player and in his time as a coach with teams such as Dorados and Tijuana .
However, there is a key point: the Argentine coach has a buyout clause and Chivas would have to pay out, something that could affect his transfer.
The team is scheduled to return to preseason training in a week. Some players are already in Guadalajara doing individual training after several weeks of vacation, but a manager has not yet been confirmed.
