With goals from Bruno Henrique, Danilo, and Wallace, Flamengo swept aside the Conference League champions in the second half to take the lead in Group D. Pedro Neto had scored first for Chelsea, but it was not enough.
The start was even, with chances for both sides. Flamengo gave an early warning with a right-footed shot from Gonzalo Plata that grazed the crossbar. Chelsea responded with a surgical pass from Enzo Fernández that set up Liam Delap, but Agustín Rossi kept the score at 0-0 with a memorable save. However, a mistake in the South American exit led to the English team's 1-0 lead: Pedro Neto capitalized on a rebound off Pulgar and finished in a one-on-one.

London's lead held until halftime, despite a Gerson header that almost leveled the score after a cross from De Arrascaeta. But in the second half, Filipe Luís's team was a whirlwind.
The pressure paid off in the 60th minute: Gerson's cross, Plata's run, and Bruno Henrique's lethal save at the far post. Without giving Enzo Maresca's team any respite, Flamengo converted the second from a corner, with Bruno Henrique heading in Danilo, who powerfully finished inside the six-yard box.

Nico Jackson's sending-off for a harsh tackle on Ayrton Lucas left Chelsea with ten men, and the final stretch was all Mengao. The icing on the cake came from youngster Wallace Yan, who pounced on a rebound and finished with subtlety to seal the 3-1 victory.
Flamengo celebrated with South American style and Brazilian personality. In Philadelphia, they ignited their enthusiasm and reinforced CONMEBOL's dominance in a tournament that already sees them as a protagonist.
