Formula 1: Alpine left Franco Colapinto out of Bahrain tests

Alpine decided to exclude the Argentine driver from the first tests of the season, due to restrictions imposed by the FIA.
Ahead of the long-awaited Bahrain tests, which will kick off the 2025 Formula 1 season, the Alpine team has made a decisive decision regarding the presence of ArgentineFranco Colapinto when testing this year's cars.
The first tests will take place between February 26 and 28 and the French team Alpine decided to give priority to its regular drivers , the Frenchman Pierre Gasly and the Australian Jack Doohan .

Remember that in these tests there can only be one driver from each team on track at the same time , so Alpine devised a rotation system that would leave the Argentine somewhat relegated. On Wednesday the first to go out on the circuit will be Doohan and in the afternoon tests it will be Gasly's turn. Then, on Thursday, they will run in reverse order.
Finally, on Friday 28th, the tests will start in the same way as on Wednesday, with the Australian opening and the Frenchman taking over in the afternoon. These tests are very important for the ten teams, as they mean the only opportunity that the drivers will have to use the cars before the first Grand Prix of the season, which will take place in Australia , between 14th and 16th March.

For now, the Pilar-born rider who joined Alpine as a reserve driver will have to wait for a chance, as he has serious chances of replacing Doohan if the Australian does not obtain the expected results.
The Formula 1 tests in Bahrain will be divided into two sessions per day. The first will be from 4 to 8 in the morning, while the second will take place between 9 and 13.
