Judge hits 16 home runs in Yankees' success

The New York Mets are in free fall.
Carlos Narváez and Rafael Devers homered, and six relievers combined to hold the Mets scoreless after starter Walker Buehler was ejected in the Red Sox's 2-0 victory in Boston on Wednesday.
The Red Sox improved to 2-0 in the three-game series, and the Mets lost their second battle with AL East teams after falling to the Yankees over the weekend. Juan Soto, the season's biggest signing, went 1-for-3 and is batting .247.
Garrett Whitlock (2-0) earned the win as the Red Sox returned to the .500 mark at 25-25. Aroldis Chapman pitched the ninth inning for his eighth save.
Clay Holmes had a scoreless game going into the fourth, but ran into trouble in the fifth when Narváez hit a 1-0 sinker off the "Green Monster." Two batters later, Devers connected in nearly the same spot for his tenth of the year.
In Miami, Seiya Suzuki homered and doubled for four RBIs, Kyle Tucker added a home run, and the Chicago Cubs routed the Marlins 14-1. In his second game as the designated hitter this season, Tucker also singled twice and walked once. Justin Turner added two singles and a double, while Matt Shaw had a double and a single for the Cubs, who matched their season high with 21 hits.
Anthony Santander and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each quadrupled, Chris Bassitt and three relievers combined to allow only five hits, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the San Diego Padres 3-0. The shutout was Toronto's first of the season. The Padres failed to score a run for the third time this season. San Diego lost its fourth straight, matching its longest losing streak in 2025. The Padres also lost four straight from April 23-27.
Bailey Falter scattered hits over seven innings, and the Pittsburgh Pirates snapped a four-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Falter (3-3) has allowed one run in 23 2/3 innings over his last four starts. David Bednar earned his fourth save.
Rookie Dylan Crews hit a tiebreaking home run in the second inning before leaving in the sixth inning as the Washington Nationals won 5-3 over the Atlanta Braves. Crews, the second overall pick in the 2023 Major League Baseball amateur draft, hit a solo homer with two outs in the second off ace Spencer Strider. The homer broke a 3-3 tie.
AARON JUDGE hit a two-run homer, rookie Will Warren struck out a career-high 10, and the New York Yankees beat the Texas Rangers 5-2 at Yankee Stadium. Ben Rice also homered for the Yankees in the first game of a three-game series between the reigning AL champions. Anthony Volpe hit a two-run double after Rice drove in the first two. New York (28-19) has won nine of 12 to move nine games over .500, its best mark of the season. Judge went 2 for 4 and is batting .403, the highest in MLB.
Texas manager Bruce Bochy was ejected by home plate umpire Carlos Torres as Judge batted in the sixth inning, and the Rangers lost for the third time in four games following a six-game winning streak.
RILEY GREENE homered and added a game-winning double in the ninth inning of the Detroit Tigers' 5-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Zack McKinstry. Tigers starter Tarik Skubal, the 2024 Triple Crown winner, allowed three runs on five hits and struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings.
