Saraperos strike again: Saltillo defeats Toros 11-6 and seeks a home sweep.

Saraperos strike again: Saltillo defeats Toros 11-6 and seeks a home sweep.

In the second game of the series held at Francisco I. Madero Stadium , the Saraperos de Saltillo once again prevailed over the Toros de Tijuana , this time with an 11-6 victory that puts them one win away from completing the home sweep. After Bobby Bradley 's historic performance in the first game—where he hit for the cycle—the Saraperos offense kept pace and took advantage of the visiting team's errors and lack of control to build an early lead that proved to be decisive.

The second game began with Cameron Gann starting for the home team, while Julio Teherán took the mound for the border team. In the first inning, Saltillo once again showed aggressive attack. A double by Renato Núñez allowed JP Martínez and Alex Mejía to score the first two runs of the game. Bobby Bradley , who reached base after that hit, was brought home by a single by Missael Rivera to make it 3-0.

The pressure on Teherán increased after he issued two walks, forcing the Toros to use their first reliever, Luis Márquez . However, the change did not bring any calm. Núñez appeared again with the bat and scored the fourth run for the Sarape . In the second inning, Márquez issued another walk, this time to Brandon Villarreal, and a single by JP Martínez loaded the bases again. It was then that Jared Wilson entered in relief, but Bobby Bradley hit another home run that brought in three more runs, consolidating their dominance in the series.

Cristian Santana contributed with a single that drove in two more, scored by Núñez and Rivera , and finally, a single by Alex Mejía brought Rivera to the plate to close the offensive of that inning with the score 10-0 in favor of Saltillo .

The Bulls ' comeback began in the top of the fourth inning. Junior Lake and Aderlin Rodríguez scored to close the gap. However, in the bottom of the same inning, Santana returned to the plate, scoring the home team's eleventh run. Tijuana continued their comeback attempt in the fifth, with RBIs from Isaac Rodríguez, Jack Mayfield , and Lake again, making the score 11-5.

In the ninth inning, the visitors added another run with a sacrifice fly by Mayfield that allowed Rodríguez to reach the plate. However, it was insufficient against the lead the Saraperos had built in the early innings.

Saltillo not only stood out for its offense, but also for the special context of this series, as the Saltillo team has been using retro uniforms inspired by the 1980s. On the back, you can read the surnames of historical figures of the club such as Muñoz, Chávez, Juárez, Solís and Luque , in homage to players and members of the coaching staff who marked an era in Mexican baseball. Even the batboys wear the surname Romero , in reference to Tony Romero , another name remembered by the fans.

With this victory, Saltillo secures the series and will look to complete the sweep in front of its home fans this Sunday. La Nave Verde has shown a significant offensive surge in this phase of the season, and the fans responded with a huge turnout at the stadium.

In contrast, the Toros have struggled on the mound and have been unable to contain an offense that has allowed 21 runs in two games. The series will conclude this Sunday at the same venue, where it will be decided whether Saltillo extends its strong run or whether Tijuana manages to avoid a sweep.
