Sultanes thrash Charros for the second consecutive night

Sultanes thrash Charros for the second consecutive night

The Charros de Jalisco failed to learn their lesson and suffered another resounding defeat against the Sultanes de Monterrey. In the third game played at Walmart Park, the Monterrey team only needed an eight-run rally in the first inning to clinch the series and take a straightforward 13-7 victory over Benjamín Gil's team.

Fortunately for Jalisco, the nightmare is over. In their three games against the Mexican Baseball League's northern division leader, the Charros allowed 27 runs and 36 hits, demonstrating the weak pitching they displayed on the mound.

Neither the men who arrived as a solution to the pitching problem nor the relievers could contain Monterrey's siege. On this occasion, Greg Minier was in charge of opening the game and was quickly exposed, since in just two and a third innings of work he was responsible for ten runs , the same number of hits , three walks and could only prescribe one strike .

Instead, five bullpen pitchers were used. Carlos Francisco contributed another run against the plate, and when everything seemed under control, Andrew Pérez was also attacked by the opposing offense, and with his pitching, the Sultanes managed to score two more runs.

Although the Charros tried to steal the show, they simply couldn't achieve the lead. A three-run rally in the sixth inning was the highlight for Jalisco, led by Carlos Mendivil, who hit an RBI single that drove in Josh Stowers and Irving López.

After these disappointing results, Charros will return home to face the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna this Friday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m.
