His possible departure from Al-Nassr —and, with it, the end of the huge media operation being promoted by the Saudi Pro League leading up to the 2034 World Cup—seemed to put Saudi football's ambitious project in jeopardy. But the alarm was short-lived. CR7 has renewed his contract for two more seasons, ensuring his presence until the age of 42 and signing the most lucrative deal in the history of the sport: €570 million .

The Portuguese striker, a key player on and off the field, has managed to substantially improve the terms of his previous contract. His new base salary amounts to €571,000 per day, plus a €28.6 million signing bonus, which could rise to €44 million if he completes the full term of his new contract. In addition, according to The Sun, he will receive a 15% stake in the club, valued at €38.6 million, and additional bonuses for titles and individual awards.

In return, Al-Nassr will continue to enjoy its main media and sporting asset. Last season, Ronaldo scored 35 goals in 41 matches and became the league's top scorer for the second consecutive year. He has now racked up 99 goals in 111 matches for the Saudi club, approaching a historic milestone: 1,000 goals in his professional career, during which he has already scored 938.

The agreement isn't limited to sports. The club has provided him with a team of 16 full-time employees for his personal and family life: three chauffeurs, four domestic staff, two chefs, three gardeners, and four security guards, at an estimated cost of €1.6 million. Added to this is €4.7 million for the use of a private jet and the promise of sponsorship deals with Saudi companies that could reach €70 million.

To keep him, Al-Nassr has shown it's willing to do anything, even changing coaches frequently. With the departure of Stefano Pioli , who is set to join Fiorentina, the Saudi club is preparing to appoint its fifth manager since Ronaldo's arrival in January 2023.
