Trump's awkward moment with Juventus regarding trans athletes: "Could a woman be part of your team?"

Juventus players visited Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday ahead of their Club World Cup debut, which they won 5-0 against Al Ain. The visit turned into a meeting between the US president and the players in the Oval Office, and there were some awkward moments, especially when they were asked about transgender athletes.
At one point during the match, Trump turned to the Italian team's players, managers, and coaches to ask their opinion on the participation of transgender people in women's sports. " Could a woman be part of your team?" the president asked the players.
Stunned by Trump's question, the players looked at each other, unsure what to do, and decided not to answer. Juventus CEO Damien Comolli, meanwhile, stepped in, responding to the president's insistence: "We have a very good women's team."
Comolli was referring to Juventus Women, the current Italian champion. "But they should play with women," Trump responded, while Comolli remained silent. "He's being very diplomatic," the US president concluded.
